listening to others

The first service one owes to others in a community involves listening to them. Just as our love for God begins with listening to God's Word, the beginning of love for others is learning to listen to them.

Leaving Dwell and Recovering from Spiritual Abuse

Kari Puchovich shares her story in and out of Xenos-Dwell with a profound vulnerability which stands in contrast to the astounding lack of empathy exhibited by a church too busy saving souls and building its kingdom of twisted doctrine to actually kneel alongside their own wounded. Motivated by her own journey on the lonely path to recovery, Kari founded LeavingDwell.com and organized a survivor-funded billboard - strategically placed at Kelso and Hight Street in Columbus - to raise awareness of the community of support that exists outside of the megachurch. She was rewarded for her efforts with scathing criticism from Dennis McCallum, co-founding pastor and cult personality of Xenos-Dwell, accusing her of orchestrating and manipulating the media in a war against the church. Kari's story is yet another example of a church built not around the saving grace of Christ, but around the idolatry of its own intellectual and fanatical superiority, crucifying its own followers and then screaming persecution.
